Kate Goodwin

I’m a passionate and capable leader providing design, research, strategy and capability building for organisations to achieve outcomes addressing social, economic and environmental challenges.

I have worked with leading public, private and non-profit organisations in Australia and abroad to deliver product, service and systems innovations. I am a trusted consultant and advisor, working with stakeholders and lived experience communities in a range of areas including regenerative education, energy transition, food systems, disability justice, criminal and community justice, and financial services.

I’m committed to inclusive and creative approaches that grow capabilities and conditions for change, putting community, lived experience and local needs at the heart of design and decision-making.

I have presented my work in numerous forums including the Creative Bureaucracy Festival, AMS Institute’s Urban Living Lab Summit, RMIT University’s Master of Design Futures, RSA’s System Change Chats, and This is HCD Ireland and Berlin.

My work in Europe on Amsterdam’s energy transition was a OIDP 2022 Award Best Practice in Citizen Participation finalist, and the Climate Democracy Model I co-developed features as an OECD-OPSI Innovation case study. Work I helped lead for Supporting Justice won Gold in the 2020 Good Design Awards Social Impact category.

I am also an alumni of the School of System Change in London, UK, where I deepened my skills and knowledge in systems and practices for regenerative futures. The School challenged my role, assumptions and world views, and inspired me to lean deeply into work with communities and civil society for ambitious, hopeful futures.
